How to use:This tool attaches to your drill the same way you attach a regular drill bit. (Some people say you need a quality cordless drill to use this tool, but I was using a cheap corded drill and this tool worked just fine. Note As suggested by another user I kept the speed dial on my drill set to low while using this tool). As in the Youtube video's that demonstrate how to use the tool, after its attached to the drill, you just hold on to it while drilling as normal. A cam inside the tool grips the stem of the rivet and pulls it inward until it is clamped tight and breaks the rivet stem securing the rivet in place. To release the used rivet stem from the tool you just revers the rotation of the drill, hold the rivet tool pointed towards the floor, and drill until the rivet stem falls out.Pros:This tool is really quick and allowed me to rivet up to 60 rivets (two rows of 30) very quickly on a project I was working on. The tool performed as advertised and did a great job.Cons:About every 20 rivets or so, the tool would not break off the rivet stem. This could have been operator error since I am new to using the tool, and I may have not been drilling consistently enough to allow the tool to break off the rivet stem in those instances. In some of those cases the tool would only break off a piece of the rivet stem leaving the rest protruding from the rivet. In those cases I just switched to a manual rivet tool or a pair of vice grips to break or twist off the remaining rivet stem. The manual that came with the tool is very poorly written and the exploded diagram of how to take the tool apart for maintenance is almost completely unreadable due to extreme low resolution blurry images and this is the case even if you download the manual directly from the original manufacturer which I have done. Note that I have a very high resolution graphics card and printer so these are not the issue here. The workaround for this is of course to simply document the deconstruction of the tool when you need to oil it for maintenance the first time which the manual suggests after every 1,000 rivets or so.This rivet gun works just incredibly well. I was a bit apprehensive about buying this after looking at the reviews. After I bought it I actually cancelled the order but am glad it was too late because the project I was assigned to work is using steel rivets and steel rivets are absolutely stout. You have to play heman to get a rivet gun to work. But this thing worked just awesome and saved me a ton of time instead of using a standard rivet gun. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. You have got to be a complete monkey not to be able to understand how to use this. Turn your drill on turning clockwise to extract the rivet then after it pops off turn the drill counter clockwise to extract the nail end of the rivet and toss it in the garbage and you are all set. It is really that simple to use.I read the reviews carefully and decided to take a gamble and buy this rivet attachment. The instructions were simple enough. I did about 100 rivets and was really pleased and surprised. Then it grabbed the end if the rivet and tore it off and jamming it. I carefully took it apart and unjammed it. Then did another 50 before it jammed two more times tearing the tip of the rivet off inside. Then I did another hundred and then the attachment justs sheared off. I used a Milwaukee Fuel 18v drill on setting 1. I didn't spin it forward any longer then it took to pop the rivet. Then I would not reverse any more then barely enough to spit the end of the rivet out. The tool was not abused and should have lasted longer then 3 days.It dose work but its a cheaply made plastic piece of crap. It will not hold up to heavy use In my mind if its going on a drill your planning on popping a lot of rivets. The piece that slides over the drill chuck just flops around there is no way to lock it in to place. There is another version of this that costs 250$ and works great holds up to heavy use and is built from metal with a heavy rubber chuck guard IMO don't waste your money on this one. Buy the better one.Need to read the instructions before using. Must operate cordless drill in reverse afterpopping off rivet to remove stem from the tool. If you operate too long in reverse thenthe threaded rod inside the tool comes loose. You then have to dis-assemble the toolto re-thread the rod.I bought this to replace a broken pop rivet handle gun, and I will never go back to a regular pop rivet handle gun again. This item will pay for its self in no time if you use alot of rivets. I can use it with any of the many different drills that I have and it works great. What a time saver, and also no more hand cramps after placing 50 rivets. I wish I would have had this tool many years ago!I bought this for use on my boat and it took me a while to get time off from work to go make the repairs, so when I got there and took it out of the package only to find out that it was not able to rivet stainless steel rivets (even though that's exactly what I bought it for and there was no indication on their listing at the time that it would not do them). When I inquired about a return I was told it was past the return date. I explained to them the situation and they were unsympathetic. I said that if they had listed it would not do stainless, I would not have bought it, but was met with a similar response and no desire to remedy my issue.Great product
