Your shade will arrive with an 1/4" deduction, to ensure a perfect fit. If you would like to install inside of the window frame, your window sill must be at least 1" deep. If you would like to install your shade OUTSIDE of the window sill, measure in the same place. Using the measurement, we recommend adding 4 to 5 inches to the width and length, to ensure full coverage. Your shade will arrive with an 1/4" deduction. Very happy with the sleek clean look.Ok so first I ordered one to try it out. We recently got new windows and I didn’t want to hide the beautiful new trim with curtains. These roller blinds are an amazing quality for the price! I love that the brackets are black and the material isn’t the cheap plastic stuff. I ended up ordering more for all our new windows! I added photos for what they look like at night and day, as well as what they look completely rolled up. I’m very gentle when I roll them up and it isn’t quick, but I love the sleek look. (Please excuse the wall imperfections, we will have a lot of house to fix up.)I ordered this based on the advertising pics showing a completely pitch black shade over a window where you can NOT see through it, and all the reviews saying this is great for 'black out'. This shade is barely better than the insect screens I have in my screen porch. I can very easily watch my kids playing outside through this, and it just barely darkens the window in a dark room. Complete waste of money. This is NOT what is depicted in the item pictures. My pictures are early morning light on a heavily shaded yard, and that is how bright it is through this shade.This is so black out. Got a pretty pure black shade and did an inside mount and it is pitch dark during the day time. Love it.
